Note (6) Age 18, chemist. With family. Note (7) According to Monica Horne, Ernest lived at Kimberley and Grahamstown, South Africa, and returned to England about 1896 or 1898. His daughter Nesta was born before 1896. Ernest then returned to South Africa in 1921; an entry in Mary Harvey Horne (Vyall)'s "log book" has on 12 Oct 1921 "Uncle Ernest came to say goodbye before going to Africa" (Monica Horne pers. com.). (according to Isobel Slatter (Bowden), he returned to SA in the 1930s). In Sep 1896 still in South Africa (letter from his wife Mary to Minnie Wells). E W Wells (presumably Ernest) was a witness at the marriage of Edith May Horne and William George Bowden in September 1911. Isobel Slatter visited him, son Mont and daughter Nesta in Teignmouth Road, Brondesbury, about 1920.
